Most Common Design Mistakes

Most Common Design Mistakes:

• Underlining text that is not hyperlinked! Viewers will always try to select an item that is underlined. It can be quite frustrating when nothing happens.
  
• Pages with too much information - scrolling never ends - a good rule of thumb is to only use 1-2 printable pages per Web page.
  
• CAPITALIZING ALL THE TEXT ON THE PAGE - this is very difficult to read
  
• Using Red and Green text - many viewers have visual difficulties reading text in these colors
  
• Overusing animations - causes too much distraction from what is important on the page
  
• Dead image links - usually caused when the image files are not uploaded to the server
  
• Using busy backgrounds - use with care - makes it difficult to see the text
