Most Common Design Mistakes
Most Common Design Mistakes:
- Underlining text that is not hyperlinked! Viewers will always try to select an item that is underlined. It can be quite frustrating when nothing happens.
- Pages with too much information - scrolling never ends - a good rule of thumb is to only use 1-2 printable pages per Web page.
- CAPITALIZING ALL THE TEXT ON THE PAGE - this is very difficult to read
- Using Red and Green text - many viewers have visual difficulties reading text in these colors
- Overusing animations - causes too much distraction from what is important on the page
- Dead image links - usually caused when the image files are not uploaded to the server
- Using busy backgrounds - use with care - makes it difficult to see the text
